In conjunction with the Ministry of Health, NZAAS provides the national fixed wing air ambulance service for the transportation of patients with infectious diseases or other conditions that require isolation.
The New Zealand Air Ambulance Service has a dedicated intensive care flight team available, along with aircraft, 24/7 to support all District Health Boards, ACC and MOH. Our service has approved infection control procedures to transport suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 patients. Our guidelines have been approved by Dr Sally Roberts – Clinical head of microbiology and clinical advisor for infection prevention and control at Auckland District Health Board. With the anticipated increase in COVID-19 cases and flight teams being required to support their hospitals, The New Zealand Air Ambulance Service is available to support your aeromedical patient transfers throughout New Zealand.
Please call us on 0800 111 400 to discuss your transport needs. We are available 24/7 for you.
